Melanie Wanda Crash Third Trailer

In an interview with Xpose Entertainment, Ronan talks about the massive size of ‘The Host’, but also about how she does not want to typecast herself as only playing certain types of characters. She talks about her childhood as an actress and how she fell in love with acting and realized it would be her life from then on.

“”I read it after I met Stephenie in Dublin. It’s massive! Huge! Like the Bible!” Saoirse laughed.”

“”It was a bit of a challenge because you’re getting the chance to play two characters in one film,” she told British magazine Vogue. “Playing someone like Wanda, the alien, who’s naive to everything. And Melanie, who is very feisty and mouthy and hits people… It was great.”

Saoirse has appeared in Atonement and The Lovely Bones and is determined to keep testing herself in her career. She knows her whimsical looks mean some expect her to play certain characters, but that’s of no interest to her.

“I don’t want to fall into the category of just doing ethereal characters,” she said. “But I think if you are an outsider, you have a lot to think about, and you don’t have anyone to share it with. Those things build up in your head and give a character a lot of layers.”

Although the 18-year-old star began work when she was young, she enjoyed a relatively normal childhood. Her parents supported her desire to act but never pushed her and she can remember when she realised it was the profession her future lay in.

“My dad saw it come naturally for me. I loved school plays, I would always count my lines and was chuffed when I had more than 20,” she recalled.

“[2007’s Atonement] was when I fell deeply in love with acting. I thought, ‘Well, I guess I want to do this for the rest of my life.'””
