At the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 red carpet last night, Saoirse Ronan, Jake Abel, and Max Irons stepped out to represent The Host. I believe this is the first event that all three have attended to support the film. E! Online got them to do a pretty good and funny interview. Here are excerpts from the interview and head on over to E! Online to read the entire article (highly recommended).
“Yeah, I guess so. I’ve made the film now, so I guess that’s the first step,” she revealed about picking up the Meyer mantle now that vampire franchise is over. “But I love the story and I love Stephenie and I love her writing, so I’m more than happy to do that.”
But don’t expect the kind of shirtless action that Taylor Lautner is famous for delivering. “He doesn’t take his top off though,” Saorise lamented as Jake cut her off: “Don’t say that! That’s sequel material.” Ronan quickly caught on and promised, “If they want a sequel, then Jake will take his top off.”
This is the best part of the interview:
Saorise: “I want to play a character that sees Jake take his top off.”
Jake: “That’s the entire third movie, pretty much.”
Saorise: “No one else is even going to be in it. He’s just going to stand there with the wind in his hair.”
Jake: “It’s just going to be me doing farm work. Everyone else is dead. And I’m just going to be brushing wheat.”
There is another funny exchange at the end of the article as well. I like this humor, and I am looking forward to more of it.
