It has just been announced through Deadline that Diane Kruger will be The Seeker in The Host. The Seeker “is charged with overseeing the conversion of a young rebel soldier (Ronan) whose consciousness has been infiltrated by Wanderer, a soul that has taken control of bodies and minds but who is daunted by the young human’s spirit, and obsessed with the memories of her boyfriend and her brother, and sets out to track them down. The Seeker pursues her, knowing that the conversion of the rebel will lead to the discovery and eradication of the rebel movement.”
Diane Kruger was born July 15, 1976 and is of German descent. Her breakout role in the US was as Helen of Troy in Troy alongside Orlando Bloom, Brad Pitt, and Eric Bana. She was most recently seen in Unknown with Liam Neeson. She is currently in a relationship with Joshua Jackson.
It should also be noted that Diane Kruger was up for a lead role in Oblivion, but took herself out of the running and took The Host role instead.
